Time to wrap things up!
over 6 years ago – Thu, Aug 24, 2017 at 08:25:01 PM

So, here we are! it's been almost a year since this Kickstarter went live, and despite some last-second drama, you should have your copy of Wordsy now!

Most importantly: if you don't have your copy of Wordsy yet, please message me! Everyone's copy should have arrived by now.

If you've played Wordsy, and you use BoardGameGeek, please take a moment to give the game a rating and a comment! Every rating, high or low, is a good thing for me. All I ask is for honest feedback.

Finally, if you're a fan of The Networks, you should know that I'm working on gearing up to launch a new Kickstarter campaign for The Networks: Executives, a big, juicy expansion! It adds tons of replayability to the game via individual player powers, plus a starting draft and new Mogul Cards. I've been testing this like mad for the past 18 months, and I can't wait to show it all to you on September 5!

If you want to be notified when the campaign launches, simply subscribe to me on Kickstarter, or sign up for my mailing list. I'll also announce the campaign on my Twitter and Facebook feeds, of course!

This will likely be the final update for our successful Wordsy campaign, at least for a while. I'm very pleased and relieved that we funded, and that we were able to deliver on time.

It's been a pleasure and a privilege working with you to fulfill this campaign, and I can never thank you enough for backing my games and allowing me to continue to live the dream. Thank you!

More information on the RETURN TO SENDER issue
almost 7 years ago – Fri, Jul 21, 2017 at 06:31:57 PM

As you've most likely noticed by now, we've had a shipping setback. Funagain, my fulfiller, had a data-import error that mangled all non-EU addresses. So all my backers in North America and outside Europe got an email that their package was going out... followed soon by another email that said their package was being returned to sender because of an incorrect address.

Like I said in my last update, this was not part of the shipping plan! I'm really sad that so many of you were looking forward to getting your copy of Wordsy this week. I just got off the phone with Funagain, and they are hugely apologetic. They don't normally make mistakes like this.

Fortunately, it's not a long-term issue. Funagain is going to re-import all the correct (and double-checked) addresses, and re-send all 762 copies of Wordsy first thing Monday morning.

So, here's the game plan from here on in...

  • You can now disregard any "RETURN TO SENDER" emails from the USPS this week. We are assuming any packages sent from Funagain before July 24 are going to nonexistent addresses.
  • If you do not get your copy of Wordsy by August 1, email [email protected]. Make it clear that you're having problems with their July 24 send. Again, please wait until August 1 before reaching out, unless you get something from USPS that indicates otherwise.

I don't want to guarantee anything, but in theory, USPS first-class mail should get to you by next Friday, July 28. So what seems like a huge mess now will hopefully turn out to be just a one-week delay. (Again, if it doesn't get to you until July 28, please give it a couple more days until August 1 before reaching out to [email protected].)

One more time, I'm very sorry that we hit this fulfillment snag. I'm hopeful that you'll all get your game next week!

Return to Sender issues?
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jul 20, 2017 at 10:08:13 PM

I'm getting notifications that there have been at least a few Wordsy packages that have not been delivered successfully within North America; they're getting marked Return to Sender.

Obviously, this was NOT part of the shipping plan! I'm checking it out with my fulfiller, Funagain, now.

I hope to have an answer - and your game - within the next few days. In the meantime, if you got a Return to Sender message, please email [email protected]. They will help you out.

Thanks for your continued patience and support! I'm sorry for this added wrinkle, but I hope we can work past it soon.

Enjoy your copy of Wordsy!

Hi Wordsy backer,

This one will be short, and deliciously sweet.

My fulfillers began the process of mailing out Wordsy late last week. If you have not yet received your copy yet, it's on its way!

If you are in North America or Europe and you don't receive your copy/copies by Friday, July 21, let me know and we'll get it sorted out.

If you're anywhere else in the world, give it until Friday, July 28, and then let me know.

If you received a copy, but find there's any sort of issue with missing or damaged components, please email [email protected], and we will fix it for you.

If you picked up a copy at Dice Tower Con... well, it turns out that the shipment left my warehouse a little earlier than expected, so your copy was already in the mail by the time I notified the fulfiller. So you'll be picking up a bonus copy when it arrives. Please don't send it back to me, just find it a good home. :)

One last favor... once you get to play Wordsy, please talk about it! Post about it on Twitter, Facebook, heck, even Friendster if you can. And if you use BoardGameGeek, I would appreciate an honest rating. Here's the game's BGG page.

And I have to repeat myself... none of this, NONE OF IT, would be possible without your generous help. Last November, you went out of your way to help me make this game. Because you did, it came out better than I could have ever hoped. Thank you again for coming along with me!

(P.S. I've never had a Yorkie bar, but now I want one...)

Out of customs, and on the way to the warehouse!
almost 7 years ago – Thu, Jun 29, 2017 at 12:48:31 AM

Hi folks,

The shipment from China took a little while to process through customs, but is finally out of the port and heading up to my warehouse!

If you're in the UK or EU, your game is ready to ship. You should get it in a week or two.

If you're in the US or Canada, your game should arrive in my warehouse in a week or so, depending on how long it will take to get there. It should be another week or two to get in your hands.

I know it's been a bit of a wait, but we're almost there!

Dice Tower Con Pickup

Will you be at Dice Tower Con? If so, please message me on Kickstarter or comment below to tell me! I'll hand you a copy of the game at the show.

I know I've said this before, but: Wordsy came out beautifully, and the early reviews are raves. I'm really happy with how this game came out. I'm so thankful that you helped make this game real!
